Conserve Africa Now (CAN) is a student education program that works with American universities and researchers in Southern Africa. Dr. Stephen Lee and Maggie Lee established CAN with the goal to bring animal conservation through research and education to areas in Africa that have been historically neglected. Countries like Botswana, Namibia and South Africa have enormous wildlife populations that are disappearing due to habitat destruction, poaching among other factors.
With more than 20 years of field research experience and major government project development, Stephen & Maggie Lee through CAN, are able to provide impactful opportunities abroad where there is a significant need that no one else is addressing. By building relationships between universities and local governments, CAN facilitates research directed to save and protect animals and their habitat throughout Southern Africa. The education programs offered will provide unique and immersive cultural experiences for both students and faculty.
